Help Crack DES

Help Crack DES

DES is short for Data Encryption Standard (aka. DEA Data Encryption Algorithm). It was developed by IBM and later approved as a standard by the National Security Agency (NSA). It is a way to encrypt and decrypt messages using a key, that was once concidered safe. It's a part of a course we are taking at Ã…bo Akademi University, called Cryptography and Network Security. We need to find the key and that is why we have written a distributed client that contacts a server, gets 35-bits, checks all keys that start with those bits and sends the result back to the server. The goal of this project is to break a 56-bit DES key in less than a month. (Deadline May 16, 2004)
