DES

We're a group of students at Åbo Akademi University. In a course called Cryptography and Network Security we're trying to break an encryption algorithm called DES (short for Data Encryption Standard), by doing a brute force search of the complete keyspace until we find the right key. We need to break it before the 16th of May, hence this calls for an enormous amount computer power. If you can spare any computer for this project we'd be happy. It's also possible to create a team with your friends (why not throw in a server farm or two for that extra power boost!), and compete for the top places at our stats page. Please read on for instructions on how to install and run the distributed client.
