AMD Users Championship 2007

The AMD Users Championship 2007 was an internal team competition composed of 5 short races (one week long), but divided in 2 categories, BOINC and non-BOINC, with each category sporting a different set of project races. Under each category there was also two separate leagues, the pharmers league, for members capable of producing on average 700 or more credits per day (on BOINC) or a pre-determined number of points on non-Boinc projects, and the regulars league for the remaining ones. There were also three side challenges to measure key counting, click counting and mouse distance, on the BeWes and WhatPulse projects, but this did not contribute to the championship points.

Calendar and list of projects

The initial planning for the event was a 5 race championship, 7 days each, with 3 days interval between races. Due to unforeseen events that affected the competition the Pi Segment race had to be repeated after the contest finish.

Scoring System

The scoring system of this contest was that for each race the top 10 participants got awarded a number of points between 1 and 10, being that the #1 was awarded 10 points, the #2 was awarded 9 points, and so on until the #10 was awarded 1 point only. The remaining participants below 10th would receive no points. The final Championship score would be equal to the sum of the scores of each race. The table below demonstrates the scoring system.
