    BOINC Pentathlon 2012

The 2012 BOINC Pentathlon is now available for signups, I don't know if we signed up yet but the available projects in each discipline are as follows.

    Showbag
All BOINC projects can be suggested
    GPU
    Collatz
    Distributed Rainbow Table Generator
    Einstein
    GPUGrid
    Milkyway
    Moo! Wrapper
    Primegrid
    SETI@home
    Physics & Chemistry (CPU)
    Constellation
    Cosmology
    Ibercivis
    Leiden
    QMC
    Biology & Medicine (CPU)
    AlmereGrid
    Correlizer
    MalariaControl
    RNA World
    Rosetta
    Mathematics (CPU)
    ABC
    Mersenne@home
    NFS@home
    NumberFields@home
    Primaboinca
    SAT@home
    SZTAKI Desktop Grid
    sudoku@vtaiwan
    Yoyo@home

Each team gets a vote for what project is in each discipline, and I remember last year we voted on what AMDUsers vote would be. Assuming we vote again this year mine is as follows...

    Showbag
The Clean Energy Project - Part 2
(May be better to vote for World Community Grid since that is more likely to win over individual sub-project suggestions)
    GPU
    Milkyway@home
However Collatz would be fine as well, since I also have two old 3850s that no longer run Milkway
    Physics & Chemistry (CPU)
    Constellation
(However Cosmology and QMC are great projects as well, so hard to choose)
    Biology & Medicine (CPU)
    Rosetta
    Mathematics (CPU)
    Yoyo@home

    - any project as long as ATi cards are usefull will do
    Physics & Chemistry
    - Leiden
    Biology & Medicine
    - Correlizer (doesn't handle challenges very well, lastly)
    - Malaria
    - Rosetta
    Mathematics
    - ABC

WCG sounds good to me, but I wouldn't recommend people trying to race on Clean Energy as it requires lots of I/O and causes some machines to wait on hard drive access when trying to run all cores on it. This project running on all cores will start having large differences in CPU clock and wall clock do to this large I/O requirement. I have limited mine to 1 at a time and sometimes run 2, but some machines have a hard time with more.

It's one week from the signup deadline, and as far as I can see we have not signed up yet. Just making sure we do plan to participate this year. Signup link is posted below.
